ALCO store in Charleston to close | Business
CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - ALCO Stores, Inc. will close its ALCO store in Charleston, Missouri.
Ricardo Clemente, Sr. Vice President for Store Operations, cited the store not meeting the company's financial requirements as the reason for its closing.
The closing will impact 11 associates and one store manager. Clemente said employees of the Charleston store will have the opportunity to be considered for positions at other ALCO stores.
Beginning Monday, June 17, the store will mark down prices on many items prior to its closing date, which is anticipated by August 26.
“This is never an easy decision to make, and we know it will have an impact on the Charleston community. We wish to express our thanks to the many friends that we have served over the past several years and also thank the employees who have served our company faithfully during that time,” said in a news release.
