EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) - Several events are planned in East Prairie for the 4th of July holiday.

The Elm Street Baptist Church Party will be July 3 in the Main Street parking lot. The Street Dance will also be July 3 at 9 p.m. on Main Street

On July 4 the Parade line-up will be at 9:30 a.m. at Doyle School The parade will be at 10:30 am in Downtown East Prairie. A community fireworks display will be at 9 p.m. at the East Prairie High School football field.

Summer cover photo contest begins for County News Facebook pages

The official start of summer is Wednesday, June 20 and that means it's time to switch out our cover photos for the County News Facebook pages.

Starting Wednesday, June 18 you can submit a photo that you think best represents summer in your county. You can e-mail the photo to cNews@kfvs12.com or click here to upload them. With the photo, make sure to include your name, what county it represents and where in that county the picture was taken.

On Monday, July 2 submissions for the contest will end and we will put all of the photos into a slideshow for each county. Viewers can then vote for which photo they want to see as that county's Facebook cover photo.

East Prairie to host fireworks display at new location

EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) - East Prairie Fire Chief Kyle Hutcheson says they will have a fireworks display at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.

Hutcheson says the location of the fireworks display has been moved to the industrial park just west of town, off of Highway 80.

Charleston farmer's market sells out on 1st day

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - The Charleston Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a weekly Farmer's Market on Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The market is at Simpson Park on South Main Street in Charleston. It features handmade goods, fresh fruits and vegetables and baked goods.

Tuesday, June 26 was the first day for the market and organizers report they were sold out of everything by the time it ended.
