Charleston man arrested on multiple charges

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said a Charleston man is in custody after an encounter with deputies at a local business. 

Glenn Hartwick Jr., 22, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana. 

Deputies say they noticed Hartwick acting in a suspicious manner as he was leaving a local nightclub early Sunday morning. When they approached Hartwick, they say he ran away from a vehicle that he had been kneeling behind.

When they searched the area where Hartwick had been seen, deputies say they found a loaded handgun hidden under the rear bumper of the vehicle. They say Hartwick then tried to leave the area in another vehicle as officers attempted to take him into custody.

MINER, MO (KFVS) - Miner Police Officers say they received a report of a robbery on Monday, December 3 at 8:37 p.m. that happened in the parking lot of Drury Inn Hotel in Miner.

When officers arrived, they say they found the victim had moderate injuries from a physical confrontation with the suspect. The victim reported that the suspect forcibly took his wallet and fled the area in a vehicle after a short confrontation.

Police say the suspect and vehicle is described as a black male near 40 years old, approximately 6 foot, 2 inches with thin facial hair and thin build. The suspect is described as having a blue and grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The vehicle is described as a black, newer model compact-size with no license plate information.

4 arrested after 2 meth labs found

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Four people were arrested after two meth labs were found in Mississippi County on Halloween.

Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore and deputies served two search warrants on 49 East Sparrow Lane and 50 East Sparrow Lane.

Numerous items used to producer meth were found. Deputies also found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and controlled substances.

Julius Devor Parham, 34, is charged with delivery or manufacture of imitation of a controlled substance, distribution/delivery/manufacturer/produce or attempt to possess with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of synthetic cannabis, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia-Amphetamine/methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana.  Parham remained in the custody of the Mississippi County Detention Center on Nov. 1 with a bond of $200,000 cash or surety.

Man arrested in connection with stolen items from Cape Girardeau store

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Miner police say they arrested a Springfield man Monday in connection with stolen items from Best Buy in Cape Girardeau.

Christopher P. Amsden, 38, from Springfield, Mo. was charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia/meth (class d felony), distribution/delivery/manufacturing/producing or attempt to possess with intent a controlled substance (class b felony), receiving stolen property and operating a vehicle without a valid license.

According to Miner Police Chief Chris Griggs, the Cape Girardeau Police Department sent a broadcast out about stolen items from Best Buy in Cape Girardeau. He says a description of the vehicle and suspect was sent. and officers from the Miner Police Department found the vehicle near HH Highway and stopped it.

Griggs said a search of the vehicle yielded the recovery of the stolen merchandise from Best Buy, as well as a large quantity of dangerous narcotics.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore says four Mississippi County residents were arrested and charged with drug related crimes.

James Lee Fowler, Sr., 53 of Charleston was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of a meth precursor and unlawful drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $75,000 cash only.

LaDonna Marbry Evans, 42 of Wyatt, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of meth precursor, a failure to appear warrant for bad checks, unlawful drug paraphernalia and a probation violation. Evans is being held without bond.

Michael Watkins, 20 of Bertrand and James Robert Fowler, 27 of Bertrand were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of a meth precursor and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $50,000 cash only for each.
