Inmate facing more charges for allegedly trying to sneak drugs into jail | Crime
MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Mississippi County inmate is facing additional charges after officers say she was caught over the weekend trying to sneak drugs into the facility.
Elizabeth Nicole Jones, 28, of House Springs, Mo., was originally booked on a Sikeston city warrant for driving while revoked.
During intake, Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore said a corrections officer found 10 small pills and a cluster of marijuana concealed in her undergarments. He said the pills were later identified as Alprazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance.
The items were turned over to the jail administrator to be put into evidence and submitted to the SEMO crime lab.
Jones is now charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance in the county jail. Her bond was set at $50,000.Copyright 2013 KFVS. All rights reserved.
