According to Sheriff Moore, deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop in East Prairie on Wednesday for illegal tint on the car windows. He says when deputies turned the lights and sirens, the car driven by Owens did not stop and continued, not stopping at stop signs along the way. They say the car continued to increase speed as the deputies pursued.
The sheriff says when the car did stop, a male passenger, Haynes, tried to run. He was quickly subdued by a deputy.
When deputies searched the car, they say they found drug paraphernalia with marijuana residue, syringes and marijuana. They say the evidence was sent to the crime lab for further analysis of heroin.
Moore says all arrested are currently at the Mississippi County Detention Center.
