Tractor-trailer driver arrested after allegedly carrying 500 lbs. of pot

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - A tractor-trailer driver was arrested Sunday, April after police allegedly found 500 pounds of marijuana and a loaded gun in his rig.

Angelo Rogers, 40, of Markham, Ill. was arrested and charged with first degree drug trafficking and unlawful use of a weapon. He is currently in the Mississippi County Detention Center.

A cash only bond of $750,000 has been set.

Man, woman plead guilty to robbing bank

SCOTT COUNTY AND MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A man and woman pleaded guilty on April 7 to bank robbery.

Richard Anderson, 21, of Minor, Mo. and Holli Wrice, 32, of Charleston, Mo. pleaded guilty to robbing the Capaha Bank of Tamms, Ill. on November 6, 2008.

They admitted in court to robbing the bank with handguns. Wrice pointed a gun at a teller and handed her a note that said: "This is a robbery, I have a gun, don't cause a scene and no one will get hurt. I do have a gun!!"

Bank cameras recorded the robbery and showed Wrice picking up the note shown to the teller and putting it in the bag with the money. The note fell out of the bag when it was pulled away from the teller window.

Photos from bank surveillance cameras were broadcasted to the public and lead witnesses to come forward and identify Anderson. Further investigation found that Anderson's fingerprints matched those found on the demand note.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY (KFVS) - Police found large amounts of herroin and three handguns in a Mississippi County man's home.

Daniel Murray, 28, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. One count is from Scott County and the other is from Mississippi County. His preliminary hearing is March 16.

Murray was arrested after a joint narcotics investigation that included the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department, Sikeston D.P.S.
