MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, his department recently participated in an Agriculture Farm Safety Day. It was sponsored by Bunge-North America, the Progressive Agriculture Foundation and Ron Rowling Farms.
During the day-long event, Sheriff Keith Moore and Deputy Cory Hutcheson met with fourth grade students from the East Prairie, Charleston and Kelly School Districts to offer advice on what to do and what not do in situations when left at home alone.
“Adolescents really shouldn’t be left home alone,” said Sheriff Moore. "But, if it is unavoidable, I encourage parents to educate them on every possible situation beforehand. Children should know how to treat minor injuries and summon help in the event of a fire or medical emergency and should never open the door for a stranger.”
