Charleston police arrest man after shots fired, stolen gun found

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS)- Charleston police officers arrested a man after hearing several gunshots and finding a stolen gun.

Terrance Webster, 42, of Harvey, Ill. faces assault, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property and numerous weapons violations.

Officers were dispatched to 701 Vine Street around 7:40 p.m. on September 1.

Responding officers heard several gunshots, but the suspect had fled the scene on foot.

Witnesses and other people in the area helped police find Webster at a nearby home.

Webster surrendered and was arrested. Police found a stolen gun inside the home.

Webster was being held in the Mississippi County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
