Charleston City Manager visits Hearnes Elementary

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Charleston's city manager recently visited Hearnes Elementary to talk politics with 5th Grade students.

Penny Hale's history students heard from Richard Goode, the new City Manager of Charleston, as part of a lesson on local government.

Goode gave an informative presentation on basic city powers and functions, as well as the City Charter and the Municipal Code Book, before giving students a chance to ask questions about their hometown.

Goode was joined by Public Safety Director Robert Hearnes and Public Works Director David Harris, who discussed their respective programs.

On behalf of Charleston R-1 Schools, Mrs. Hale and her students would like to thank City Manager Goode for his visit.
