Rte. BB to be reduced for edge rut repairs

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says Route BB will be reduced to one lane while crews perform edge rut repairs.

This section of road is located between Route 80 and Route P.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.

I-57 to be reduced for pavement repairs

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Southbound I-57 in Mississippi County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

This section of road is located between the Mississippi River Bridge and U.S. 60.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Monday, May 20 to Wednesday, May 23 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

This section of road  is located between Route EE and Route 77.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Tuesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 9 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO  (KFVS) - Route FF in Mississippi County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert pipe under roadway.

This section of roadway is located between Route 77 and Route YY.

Weather permitting, work will take place on Wednesday, May 1 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

MoDOT reminds drivers to watch for motorcycles

(KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation encourages motorcyclists and motorists to safely “share the road” this May in observation of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.

All motorists are reminded to watch for motorcycles and to be extra alert to help keep motorcyclists safe, while motorcyclists are reminded to make themselves visible to other motorists. According to MoDOT, there were 276 motorcyclists killed from 2010-2012.

“We’re seeing more and more motorcycles on the highways,” said Leanna Depue, chair of the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety’s executive committee. “Drivers of all vehicles need to be extra attentive. A motorcycle is one of the smallest vehicles on our roads, often hidden in a vehicle’s blind spot. Everyone needs to watch for motorcycles.”

This section of road is located between Route 60 and County Road 208.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Wednesday, March 27 through Friday, March 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
