MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation is asking drivers who have traveled through a work zone recently to take their survey.

The survey asks questions like where the work zone you were driving through was located, when and the conditions.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Bolder Five-Year Direction was approved by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission on June 8, which increased the Southeast District and named new district engineers.

With the new direction, 11 counties were added to the Southeast District bringing the total to 25, Mark Shelton was named the new district engineer and Matt Seiler and Tom Stehn were named assistant district engineers.

Shelton has been a district engineer for the Southeast District since 2005 and has worked for MoDOT for almost 26 years.

"I am excited about this new direction and look forward to working with the additional counties in the Southeast District, as well as the communities we serve," said Shelton. "The experience that Matt and Tom bring to the District will help further our mission."

Seiler began his career with MoDOT in construction in Willow Springs.

Rte. 60/62 reduced for pavement repairs

Rte. 60/62 reduced for pavement repairs

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Route 60/62 will be down to one lane while the Missouri Department of Transportation crews make pavement repairs.

The road will reduced between County Road 215 and Clayton Street.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 14 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

MoDOT, Dept. of Ag. allows overweight loads on Mo. highways

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation and the Missouri Department of Agriculture have agreed to let heavier than normal loads of farm products from flooded areas be transported to safer storage.

According to MoDOT, many farmers have grain and livestock in areas threatened by rising floodwater and possible levee breaches.

"In light of recent heavy rainfall and high river levels, we want to give producers every opportunity to move livestock, supplies and equipment to higher ground," said Director of Agriculture Dr.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation has released a current list of closed roads in Southeast Missouri because of flooding.

MoDOT urges drivers to use caution and plan alternate routes.

Routes in Mississippi County closed include:

  • Route 62 - from I-57 to the levee
  • Route 77 - at the Mississippi River
  • Route 77 - from Route Y to Route A
  • Route 80 - from the Mississippi River to CRD 522
  • Route 102 - from Route 80 to Route 77
  • Route A - from Route 102 to Route 77
  • Route AA - from Route 80 to Route 77
  • Route BB - from Route 80 to Route P (local traffic only)
  • Route DD - from Route 75 to Route 77
  • Route F - beginning Route 77
  • Route FF
  • Route HH
  • Route OO - from Route BB to the end of state maintenance
  • Route TT
  • Route VV
  • Route YY - from Route 102 to FF

MoDOT to suspend most construction for holiday weekend

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation announced Friday they will be suspending most construction and maintenance work over Memorial Day holdiay weekend.

MoDOT will suspend construction to accommodate an increase of traffic over the holiday weekend.

Work stopped at noon on Friday and will resume Tuesday morning. However, some lane and bridge closures will stay in place.

"We want to do all we can so travelers can get where they're going quckly and safely this Memorial Day weekend," said MoDOT Director of Systems Management Don Hillis.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed roads because of recent flooding.

As of 9 a.m. on Friday, the following roads in Mississippi County were closed:

  • Route 62 from the I-57 levee
