JEFFERSON CITY - MoDOT has added a text alerts so Missouri drivers can get urgent road information sent straight to their mobile device.

“Text alerts from our real-time traffic services, Kansas City Scout and Gateway Guide,  are popular in Missouri’s metropolitan areas,” said Matt Hiebert, MoDOT production manager. “Now motorists in the rest of the state can also benefit from these notifications.”

Just visit www.modot.org/eupdates to sign up for the service. You don’t even need a smart phone , according to MoDOT, just one that can receive text messages.

According to MoDOT, if you already have an E-update account, just login and add your provider information and cellphone number.

But if you’re new to E-updates, just create an account and choose which counties, routes and regions you want to know about.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says Route TT will be reduced to one lane while crews make pavement repairs.

This section of road is located between Route 77 and County Road 313.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Thursday, Nov. 15 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says northbound I-57 will be reduced to one lane while crews make pavement repairs.

This section of road is located between County Road 202 and the Missouri state line.

Weather permitting, crews will be working on the approach to the bridge Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

MoDOT says the work zone will be marked with signs. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while in the area.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS)  -  Southbound Interstate 57 in Mississippi County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge repairs.

The bridge is located between the Mississippi River bridge and County Road 202 (bridge over Lake Bayou).

Weather permitting, work on the approach to bridge will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

Highway Patrol urges caution for Thanksgiving weekend

(KFVS) - With Thanksgiving coming up, the Missouri State Highway Patrol wants to remind drivers that there will be lots of extra traffic for the holiday and urges drivers to be cautious.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, the Patrol will participate in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort). As part of the operation, all available officers will be assigned to Missouri roadways to enforce traffic laws, especially drunk driving laws, speeding and seat belt use. Troopers will also be assisting drivers in need.

"It's important that everyone arrive at their Thanksgiving destination safely," said Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. "Please obey all traffic laws, wear your seat belt and pay attention to the job of driving. That text or cell phone call can wait. If alcohol is part of your plan, don't drink and drive."

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation says Route VV will be closed while crews replace a culvert pipe under the road.

This section of road is located between Route FF and County Road 515.

Weather permitting, crews will be working Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
