Treasurer Zweifel authorizes 24-hour loan approval for disaster areas

Treasurer Zweifel authorizes 24-hour loan approval for disaster areas

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - State Treasurer Clint Zweifel authorized and launched 25-hour approvals of low-interest Missouri Linked Deposit Program loans in response to recent disasters in St. Louis and Southeast Missouri.

The loan approval process is known as the Harmed-area Emergency Loan Priority system or HELP.

After touring Mississippi County the past week, Treasurer Zweifel authorized HELP for use with all applications received from a qualifying borrower in a county impacted by the disaster.

Before authorizing HELP, the loan application wait time was 10 days for approval once a partner submitted a completed application.

“I know many Missourians will be able to make insurance claims, but after talking with folks in Mississippi County, there is a clear need for borrowed capital as well, and I can provide it with greatly reduced interest cost,” Treasurer Zweifel said.
